In the chilly evening of the month of December, all you can
hear is Mariah Carey’s voice singing “All I wan t for Christmas” and Jose Mari
Chan on repeat in your neighborhood. Everyone is preparing, planning, and
blatantly excited for their upcoming Noche Buena this December 24. Children are
so focused choosing and listing the things they would love to have this
December. The Ninongs and Ninangs are filling up their “ampaos” wit cash for
their inaanaks.
December
will make you think about the colorful blinking lights, acting like stars. It
is the reds and greens and golds decorating a home. It is about an old man with
a thick beard wearing a red jacket outlined with white fur that is matched by a
hat, a buckled belt, and a black boot. It reminds you of the red and white
stripped candy canes that tastes like peppermint. But is that all there is to
it?
Christmas
is originally celebrated born in the manger. The child who saved our souls from
sin and lead us back to the Father with Him being the bridge and the way.
Christmas is not always about the gifts, the Aguinaldo, or the food served in
Noche Buena. It is about the Savior, our Savor. Through this body holiday, we also
get to be reconnected with our family. Even though they are there by our side
each day, they are seem to be
so far from us. Why? It is because we are so focused about the happiness found
within our home. Let’s start looking deeper into the meaning of Christmas.
Let’s connect with our family and celebrate the birth of the birthday boy,
Jesus Christ.
Let’s all go back to how it
really is supposed to be.
