My Dream Vacation: A Time of Relaxation

To me, vacations are meant for relaxation; a break from all the problems and tasks piling up at the back of my mind. They’re a break from school, from people, and from the same old, boring daily routine I’m stuck in. A chance to stop pretending to be someone else and let loose. To me, freeing myself from all my worries means being whisked away to a peaceful place with wondrous sceneries that could calm my mind. A place where I know no one and there is no judgement. Somewhere where I could relax, reflect, and most importantly, renew myself.
To me, my dream vacation would start with a roadtrip. Spending my nights on the road, witnessing the sunrise and the sunset, and making spontaneous decisions that could probably get me in trouble but won’t ever make me regret. I’d go somewhere else without plans nor a certain destination in mind; I’d let myself get lost in hopes of finding myself, as cheesy as that sounds. I’d spend some days exploring places, meeting new people, taking long walks, trying out new and foreign food, and, on lazy days, I’d sleep in ‘til noon, watch movies under the covers and lie in bed all day. Maybe I’ll even go out and lie down at a grassy field at night just to gaze at the stars.
My dream vacation may sound quite ambitious, but really, it’s just all about the simple things that make me feel relaxed. And I hope to find joy in the simple things. Someday, I hope that I could finally get the chance to embark on a journey towards my dream vacation. Hopefully, this “someday” comes sooner, but for now though, I’d have to be patient and wait.
